Backpacking 101 - Overnight

Service Description

Tw0 day-one night event: implement and expand upon skills learned at Backpacking 101 Workshop during this event. Overnight at a shelter. Skills practice include navigation, camp site selection, personal hygiene, water filtration, fire building, first aid, wildlife encounters, food storage, assessment of trail and weather conditions! Basic gear provided: backpack, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, hiking poles and shelter included (your choice of tent or hammock). Breakfasts, dinner and some snacks included. Participants will be provided with list of personal gear and food items to pack. This trek occurs in the backcountry of either Shenandoah National Park or the Washington -Jefferson National Forest.
